Light first, everything else second
I scout or build the light before I ever raise the camera. A face reads honestly when the light does the work, not the pose.

Direction, not performance
I give small, physical prompts rather than asking anyone to "act natural." Most people relax within the first ten minutes.

Edit like it matters
Every gallery is hand-edited, image by image. You won't get five near-identical frames to choose between.
